Air Powered Clamp
A pneumatic version of our popular hydraulic Swing Clamps, the 28 air powered clamp uses a sturdy helical-cam mechanism driven by a double-acting FESTO pneumatic cylinder. The swing arm clears equipment surfaces in a minimum of space using the powerful holding force generated by the air cylinder. The pneumatic version also has a mechanical lock function and offers an extended range of cylinder output force.
The high-power pneumatic pallet clamp can be used as a base plate for equipment and enables the combination of various sizes of pallet clamps (WVS / VS / VT). With the positioning function, the movable taper sleeve absorbs the marginal error caused by different tolerances between the taper reference surface, the datum clamp and the free block, enabling high positioning accuracy and stabilised clamping force. This enables the internal setup time to be reduced significantly by eliminating alignment inspection for accuracy and eliminating the need for a fixture for the workpiece. The locating system can be shimmed with Teflon shims allowing for easy adjustment of the clearance between the clamping block and the base plate. The cylinder is mounted on the base plate with tempered and ground bearing pins and secured with LOCTITE threadlockers preventing loosening as a result of vibrations or impacts.
